Members of Assassins pose with the winners’ trophy following their victory. TORONTO, Canada — Former Guyana national captain and Canadian international Damodar Daesrath turned back the hands of time with a brilliant batting display, as Assassins retained top honours in the Dassie in association with Apollo Cricket Club Super Bash six-a-side annual five-over softball tournament, played last Saturday at Keele Top, North York, Toronto here.

Winning the toss and opting to take first knock, Assassins stumbled to three for three before Daesrath and former Guyana youth player Farook Hussain performed a rescue act with a fine 81-run fourth-wicket partnership with the latter contributing a valuable 29.

In Titans’ reply, Raymond slammed 28 with three sixes and a four but his effort proved futile. Imran Ali was Assassins’ best bowler with two for four in his one over.
